Woodwinds

Woodwinds are made from various combinations of wood, plastic, and metal. The woodwind family includes instruments such as the flute, oboe, clarinet, and bassoon. These instruments require lots of air! The pitch is changed by pressing keys and covering the tone holes.

Learn more about each instrument and musicians that play them below. Use the buttons to move to a different instrument family and download our supplementary PopsEd student guides.
