THE NEW YORK POPS ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL GUEST ARTISTS FOR 2016-2017 SEASON

New York, NY —The New York Pops will be joined by Broadway stars Allison Blackwell, John Bolton, Will Chase, Jessie Mueller, and Tony Yazbeck in concerts at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage during the 2016-2017 season. Music Director Steven Reineke will lead the orchestra.

On Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 3:00PM, the orchestra will present its holiday family concert, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, a festive multimedia celebration with instrumental music, songs, dance, and projections. John Bolton will reprise his role as the narrator for the fun-filled afternoon, joined by Allison Blackwell as a special guest. Judith Clurman’s Essential Voices USA will ring in the holidays, and dancers from New York Theatre Ballet (Diana Byer, Artistic Director; Liza Gennaro, Director and Choreographer; Tristan Raines, Costume Designer) will bring the stories to life.

On Friday, March 10, 2017 at 8:00PM, Reineke will lead the orchestra in Life is a Cabaret: The Songs of Kander and Ebb, featuring the previously announced Caissie Levy alongside Broadway veteran Tony Yazbeck. Yazbeck most recently appeared in Finding Neverland. The previously announced Joshua Henry has withdrawn due to scheduling conflicts.

On Friday, April 21, 2017 at 8:00PM, Reineke and the orchestra will be joined by Will Chase, Jessie Mueller, and Adrienne Warren for a program that will pay tribute to the soundtrack of a generation, You’ve Got a Friend: A Celebration of Singers and Songwriters. Chase currently stars in the hit musical Something Rotten!, and Mueller plays the lead role in Waitress. The previously announced Jonathan Groff has withdrawn due to scheduling conflicts.
